Heading down in November and playing Arcadian Shores, Prestwick and Tidewater. 4 of us are getting down early enough the first day to squeeze in an easy warm up round. What is the best choice Crow Creek or MBN West?
Crow Creek would be my choice, good driving range and course is far nicer then the West course at MBN, again IMO.
I have only played the west course but if Lefty is saying crow creek I would follow his suggestion.

Crow Creek is nicer, West Course is easier and cheaper. MBN complex also gets packed with the 3 courses, so the range is more crowded to warm up at West.
Both are good warmup courses.
Crow Creek is more modern and an opportunity to play bent greens, which
are not overseeded.
If a PM round, try Clarke's or Boundary House for dinner, after Crow Creek.

Even if MBN West is a great course for a warmup round, I would pick Crow Creek without a doubt if I was you @dirtywayne!

Agree with everyone. Crow Creek is the correct choice. Bent greens should be in good shape that time of year. Our group plays there every year in October and conditions are usually excellent.
The west course would be an easier warmup course, but Crow Creek is a much better course and usually in good shape.
Thank you to everyone that has responded! It sounds like Crow Creek is the def choice. When I go to book the tee time it says it will be cart path only due to overseeding. Got to talk to the guys and get their thoughts on that.

You must be using the course's own website, since various public booking sites don't say that.
It's good to try to avoid fairway overseeding and CPO. Sounds like CC might be overseeding
a little later than most. It's done from late Sept through early Nov.
If you are working with a packager, ask them about dates or call the course.
You could run into overseeding and CPO at any course in the fall. If MBN West overseeds
earlier, you could be on the fairways, unless it rains a lot, soon before your play date.

I agree with Art, check with your packager, hopefully Brian to see if the info you have on CC is correct. We try to stay away form freshly over seeded courses as we find them very wet, you get no roll on any shot and plugged balls are common. We played MBN West in early Nov. a few years back and the grass on the fairways had not been cut after their over seed, made it difficult to hit a shot as the grass was over top of the ball in some cases, and again no roll. Good luck on your choice of a course.
I'm a huge fan of MBN West.
It's more old school Myrtle golf and there are no homes on the course like Crow Creek.
It's just you and the golf ball and beautiful greenery everywhere.
AND it's one of the best warmup courses around. The wide fairways will give ya some confidence for those 3 tough courses you have on deck...and you'll really enjoy your first day in MB.
