On a day that was supposed to be rained out - we easily got in all 18. Had some mist, but that's about it. That's why you can almost never count on the rain forecast in MB. Plus it could raining at one course but not others.
Dye course is in really good shape. Rain last night, but the fairways can be played down - immediate roughs are no issue, but the lettuce close to all the fairways means hack it out. Greens rolled good, probably a true 10. I have given my opinion of Dye courses, but if played from the proper tee for your game they are challenging but mostly fair. Very difficult par 3's on this course. It does help to play Dye courses several times - this was my 5th time at Dye and I knew more where to miss shots. Last note - we played in 4 hours, nice pace of play.

I agree about the course conditions. Greens rolled smooth, fairways got some roll despite rain last night. No restrictions on the carts. Just can't wander off the "2nd cut" or else you'll find rough that hasn't been cut this summer, LOL.
All sounds good from this match at BF Dye. Thanks!

Thanks for the update UGP.
Good to hear it's in great shape.
I played BF DYE twice -the last time with Brian and his GF- and even though it was difficult and unfair in a couple/few spots, I was impressed and thought it exciting to play. I don't mind playing impossible courses on occasion. I played one of the toughest courses in my area the other day from 6600 yards and I was satisfied to end up shooting bogie golf.
Once again, thanks to you and 1putt1 for all you do for the forum and all these local scoops .
We could use a few more locals to chime in more often.
See you in 2 months. I NEED STROKES.

Thanks again for your local scoops! With still a few months ahead to come back in Myrtle, it is great to read them.
If it is possible to ask, how was the match between UGP and the 2019 Senior Champion of the Dunes?

It was two against two with 1p1 (how I'm going to type his moniker this way from now on) but we were on different teams. We both played well (our partners not so much). Other than 1p1 and UGP screwing up a couple of shots and putts, we both should have shot no worse than par. We both shot 74. I will say that 1p1 earned his name at the end of the match as he made two medium length birdie putts on the last 5 holes to win the 4 ball match 1 up. If you get the opportunity, play with 1p1 - he's a good guy.

I don't care what tee you play from... 74 at Barefoot/Dye is a great score!! The Dye course is my favorite and i have probably played it about 10 times. You are spot on about the par 3's... they are tough...i just try and get a par and move on. My group also likes the fact that it is not chaos getting your clubs loaded onto a cart... unlike the other 3 Barefoot courses. And since we play mostly afternoon tee times... we usually have the bar to ourselves after our round ???? ????
Again all 4 courses seem to always be in good condition, Dye for me is the toughest, but as you said play the proper tees and it is a more enjoyable day. Thanks for your report.
Nice to hear it was looking good. Glad the Greens where rolling better, that is how i wanted it. I also agree if you got off the fairway, you were chopping it out. Thickest i played down in MB.
Nice score on that course, i am thinking no S*****!
