Here are my nominations for the best 2nd hole on the Grand Strand (in alphabetical order this time). What do you think?
#2 Arcadian Shores
#2 Barefoot (Fazio)
#2 Carolina National (Egret)
#2 Farmstead
#2 Heritage Club
#2 Oyster Bay
#2 Prestwick
#2 Pawley's Plantation
#2 Rivers Edge
#2 Tigers Eye
Tiger's Eye #2 gets my vote. After a fairly easy opener, you pull up to the 2nd tee & whoa!....dont be short left.
Unusual elevation for Myrtle Beach.
Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle.
For me it is the Barefoot Fazio. I like this dogleg to the left.

I like Heritage but Tigers Eye gets my vote.
Brownwood Bandit
I vote for Heritage #2 par 5. The shorter/easier layup towards the green gets an
approach over a bunker, to the multi layer green sloping left to right.
The longer layup to the right, gets a shot into the slope of the green.

Arcadian Shores gets my vote with Tiger's Eye close behind. Both good par 3's.
One of the difficulties of picking favorite holes is trying to remember them from the variety of courses - especially at my age!
My belief is that the first hole should be an easy par - lots of driving area, and that the second hole should be difficult. So in that vein -
#2 Surf Club - a tough par for sure, very difficult and long second shot.
Arcadian - one of the toughest par 3's in town - and it can ruin your round immediately
Fazio - my goal is to get close to the green, hope the pin is on the front, chip and one putt.
Oyster Bay when they have the tees where they are supposed to be,(They have been up every time I've played there in the last couple of years, and then the hole is very easy)
Prestwick also fits the very tough bill. Tough drive, tough second shot, tough putting (other than that it's an easy hole)
Golf is just an excuse to drink whiskey and smoke cigars
I'll go with one of the original dream holes and say Arcadian Shores #2, not much room to miss it, wet short and right, and bunker if you go left. Fazio #2 would be my 2nd choice.
Would go with #2 at Arcadian Shores!
Inviting at first sight, but also pretty intimidating as well!
Denis Gilbert
Quebec City, Canada
For those wanting an easy #2 hole - Wild Wing - straight short and not tight!

I vote Prestwick #2. Not a super long hole, but a tight drive, tough 2nd shot to hold the green, and extremely hard to get up and down. Beautiful golf hole.
#2 Heritage or #2 True Blue or #2 Heathland
#2 Heritage or #2 True Blue or #2 Heathland
Here's another really good 2nd hole ... #2 Thistle (Stewart nine).
#2 at Heritage is my choice followed by Prestwick #2. Prestwick doesn’t get nearly the love it deserves. Such a superb track.
