The first official round of the forum outing was played at Pearl West this year and the day was perfect. Sunshine was the order of the day and the course was in really good shape. A few nasty pin positions (holes 11 and 12 come to mind) and we missed the gators on the front nine, however our foursome, my buddies Jeff and Marc along with Mike G and myself, all had a great afternoon of golf. Marc and Jeff both one money on the skins and blind draw, (yes Jeff joined in the skins after taking heat for not playing the day before) My score was the same as the day before, however with all of the par fives playing 550+ yards into the wind, I felt a bit better about my game.
I also want to put out a big thanks to Mike, the General Manager, and his staff who made the day especially great. The free wings after the round was a real special treat. No dinner following the round, we ended up at Martins where Jeff bought the Taylormade driver that he was demoing and picked up a matching 3 wood to demo at Crow Creek the next day. After getting cleaned up, we headed down to the bar at the Caravelle and had some appetizers and drinks at their reception.
As you probably read in the forum, Bob and Dennis took revenge on RB and DJ in their match and enjoyed a nice feast of wings.
Sorry that I didn’t get this posted earler, the only bad thing I can say about the Caravelle is that their Internet connectivity in the rooms has much to be desired. I am writing this from our hotel room in Binghamton. Only 5 hours to home!
