Haven't played this one in about 6 years or so but saw a good deal for $40 to play in the AM. Now I know why. I always enjoyed the layout in past experiences but the overall conditions this time around left a lot to be desired. Tee's were bare in spots with occasional weeds to be found, fairways were very dry and completely burned out in spots, especially on #1 which was not what I wanted to see as I stepped to the 1st tee. Greens were slow and a little bumpy thus very difficult to keep the ball on line and make anything. Cant recall anyone in our threesome making anything. A real shame as there are many good holes on the course. At least I had a 2 putt birdie on #18 to walk off feeling good about the round. The other courses I saw there didn't appear to be too much better. Hopefully with Fall approaching the conditions will vastly improve.
Reports have not been good for any of the four courses - sad because they're all good layouts - especially Leopard's Chase. Home owners can't be happy.
Golf is just an excuse to drink whiskey and smoke cigars
Thanks for the report. It would be interesting to see why the people in charge of the Cats courses have let them "go".
Panthers Run has been in the best shape (of the 4) for a couple years now.
The weirdest thing about Tigers Eye is the weeds . One would think the weeds would be the easiest thing for the Greenskeeper to prevent (or get rid of).
The weeds around the tee boxes and greens and some in the fairways ,make it look like they are not even attempting to take care of the course.
I agree with UGP... the members and homeowners there have to be furious.

Hopefully the members are putting some pressure on the management.
It's weird paying for new greens and not maintaining them as well as they should.
If you saw Brian's green aeration list, before recent updates for fall, the Big Cats
said they aerate the greens on each course every month of the summer, with
various size tines, so they look to be trying there.
Panthers Run was good for me in late April. The New greens were very good.
Thanks for your reports.

Back in 2002,04 ,06 I played the cat courses every year. They were in great shape then. I really enjoyed all the courses Tigers Eye was my favorite course in MB back then. It is so sad to hear all the issues they are having. If I was a home owner I would be very upset can't understand any of this they must have a money issue.
Brownwood Bandit
it does seem quite odd, especially considering all the beautiful homes there and more going up. i too would expect that the courses conditions match up with the neighborhood. Glad i bought in Barefoot !
Did the greens look like they were recovering from aeration?
Maybe even a week or so afterwards.

Thanks for your report on tigers Eye, sorry to hear conditions are still not good.
Its a shame that it is in this type of condition, I reported on it when I last played it on May 23rd, and my previous play the year before also. TE was in my MB top 10 for a long time but have now dropped it off my list until they get it back to where it should be.
I would be very surprised if Tiger Eyes do not recover in the future. This situation is not normal. They have a good reputation. They will try to save this one.

Tiger's Eye is having bad press for the last couple of years and it's too bad conditions aren't what they should be for a facility like this one!
Thanks for reporting!
