The Pearl - 8/16

Finally made it out to The Pearl since their consolidation down to 27 holes. As previously discussed on the forum, the old West Course remains in tact and now plays as the North>West. We played what they now call the West>East which is the old West Course back nine and the remaining holes from the old East Course. The West>East gives you all the holes along the River but there is a stretch that feels very disjointed where you play 8 consecutive holes without a par 4. The West finishes with a 5-3-5 then the first 5 holes of the East go 5-3-3-5-3. Didn’t really love that flow. Conditions were rather good. A ton of rain overnight had us CPO but fairways weren’t that bad other than being very soft and giving us zero roll. So it played long. The greens look great and are firm but kind of slow compared to Farmstead and Thistle. i think the best rota will be North>West (old West Course) just because of better flow. I do love the last 3 holes of the East though so glad to see they remain.

Was planning to take my girls there this year till this stupid Covid hit. Next year we are planning on playing it.

We feel it is one of the better Mini Putts and their array of birds in the back shop ( Jessy ) in particular makes a stop there a fun one. Looking more and more like Covid will keep us home this winter, fingers crossed the vaccine will work for more then a few months..
