I have four guys arriving in Charleston in early November and am looking for a suggestion for a course we might be able to pick up on the way to Myrtle Beach.  In the past we have stopped at Heritage for an afternoon round, but it is usually a bit rushed.  Unless delayed, we are usually on the road by 11:00 AM and would like to find a place a little closer than Heritage -- does not have to be a premium, just a decent track for four guys anxious to get started.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Wedgefield in Georgetown is about 20-30 minutes closer to Charleston.

The layout is decent, but it may have poor conditions, although it should be cheap.

If daylight is tight, Founders Club would be better and likely less crowded than Heritage, so you
get more holes in.

Someone may know courses South of the above courses.

I would be careful with Wedgefield, near Georgetown. I agree with Art the conditions are  sometime suspect.

Looked at the reviews -- nothing posted for the last few years and it looks like others either loved it or hated it.  Thanks for the input.

Pawley's Plantation is also in the south end, right in Mount Pleasent is a course called Patriots Point, not a bad layout and some great harbor views of Charleston.

Wild Dunes in Mt Pleasant is top notch golf. Bulls Bay is a great track as well. BB is private but they may let you on if you call them
