Played it this afternoon. I like the renovations, but it needs time to mature. They did away with cart paths and added a lot of waste bunkers. They also took down a few trees. They have nice new carts with GPS.

The greens were in very good shape, and the tee boxes were fine. Most of the fairways had an adequate amount of grass, but a few need a little more TLC and some time to grow in. The waste bunkers are still kinda rough.

If you go, you have to check in at the Byrd/Jones clubhouse and either drive or take a shuttle to the course. I was told they are demolishing the Maples clubhouse. Not sure what they plan to do after they take it down.

I hope this is helpful. I will be posting occasionally now that we are living in Calabash.

Hopefully they build a new Maples clubhouse, even if small just to check in.
The Jones check in for Maples might have golfers showing up late.
