We can get a round at Brunswick Plantation for $30/man, surely it’s gotta be worth that ?!

I second Whispering Pines, great starter course that is in great conditions. I played it before the renovation and loved it. Unlike Lefty I am a fan of MOW and Wizard as starter courses.

Also we can get good prices early in our stay at Wizard, Man o’ War, Eagle Nest, Aberdeen and Long Bay … your thoughts ?

Wizard + MOW are forging.  Wiz is links style and MOW has wide fairways, although
there is often water lurking.

Mostly forgiving:
Azalea Sands - Beachwood - Crown Park - MBN West - Sandpiper Bay - Crow Creek

Eagle Nest does not overseed fairways, so they will be brown.

Brunswick is fairly forgiving and has 3 9's if you want 27 holes.
It's low costly is mostly being before peak season, not because it has problems.

Most of us in MBGT are MB visitors, so after not being in MB since 2025,
we are mostly hearsay on conditions at this time of year.     Bermuda grass coming
out of dormancy is likely behind, due to a cold winter.  What you may have seen in
prior trips at the same date may have been better, if it was a mild winter.

As usual in MB, if the greens were overseeded, they are more likely to be slow and
if not overseeded, they will be faster and not as green.
Bent greens at Wizard, MOW + Crow Creek should be fast.

MB now has TopGolf + PopStroke.

In the Art list, the most forgiving golf course in Myrtle Beach is for me the West Course at Myrtle Beach National. All depends of your level of play.

@yorkshire-roomy Eagle Nest does not overseed the tees fairways and greens. Also some of the courses Overseed is thin in spots due to when they Overseeded them as there was a patch of very cold weather that limited germanation.

We played Eagle Nest the last couple of visits, but the issue last time was pace of play : 5.5 hour round !

How’s the weather over there now ? I was somewhat surprised to see the snowdrifts a few weeks ago, but hopefully things are improving ? Glad (and planned that way) that we’ll see Daylight Saving kick in the weekend after we arrive …

Due to one of the wettest winters on record here in the UK (and I’m on the driest part of the Country here on the East Yorkshire Coast !), I got my first round in for a month yesterday. Course closures everywhere ! In fact, the first time we saw any blue skies and sunshine this year was last week ! Grey, grey, grey, wet, wet, wet !

@Yorkshire Roomy  not feeling bad you haven't played in a month. We had until last week a foot of snow on the ground. We get rid of it and boom more snow. Weather is better then in north US but still can be chilly.

On any given day at most any given course, it can be a slow round, especially at a USA resort.

@yorkshire-roomy
The USA East Coast has been having a colder snowier winter weather this winter.

Looking at  https://www.wmbfnews.com/weather/ it looks like you will be
getting more normal MB weather by March 4.

@yorkshire-roomy Maybe a place like The Pearl could also be an interesting. I'm also thinking about Sea Trail Byrd, a course that was completely renovated last year!

Have a great trip!

Looks like you are just in time for a warmup to more normal temps.

Well, after flight delay, we finally got here ! Is Colonial Charters worth playing or avoiding ? We could get a warm up round there very cheaply tomorrow ? Or would we be better going for the likes of Azalea Sands, Arcadian Shores if we want a gentle and local opener ?
