Our golf league played Byrd on Monday and we were amazed at the course. The bunkers were full of fluffy sand, Tee boxes were great and the course had been over seeded. What really got our attention was the greens. They were smooth and rolled true to a fault. They were so fast that almost all 120 players had 3 putts with many having 4 putts. If you had a downhill putt they were almost impossible to stop. It made for quite an adventure.
The only drawback is there is no driving range at this time.
We were also impressed with the remodel of the clubhouse. the bar and restaurant. All top notch.
I highly recommend visiting this course.
Great report. Quite an adventure with those greens. Would you have some pics of the new clubhouse?
''It's just golf, let's have fun''
Most of the courses that get new greens in the summer have good greens in the fall.
The only 2 courses that I can remember not having good greens in the fall after new
new greens are, Crow Creek(6-7 years ago) and Long Bay(couple years ago).
They usually don't overseed the new greens in the winter after install, so that provides
faster winter greens.
Are you going to play Maples?
Thanks for the report!
