So for those who don't know me, I am a teacher in Middle Tennessee and my wife and I come to MB every Fall and Spring Break to play golf.  I am kind of on a quest to play every course in MB and this year we are knocking out some of the Pawley's ish area.

I have played many down that way but need the following:

1. Plantation at Pawley's

2. Willbrook

3. River Club

4. Tradition Club

5. Founders at Pawley's

6. Blackmoor

7. Litcfield CC

We can only get 5 rounds in this time (October 6-11) and I planned on playing 1-4 for sure but was hoping someone could tell me which other to add between Founders, Blackmoor, or Litchfield.

Would obviously love to play Debordieu, Reserve at Litchfield, or Wachesaw Plantation, but being a regular joe I know those private clubs will be out of reach.

I appreciate any advice you can give and will as usual do a trip report for our play.

Your first 4 courses in the list are the best of your list.

Founders is more unique, modern and challenging than BM + LF, which are
older style courses.   I can't comment on current conditions.

Founders does not have a range, uses a lot of waste areas as cart paths
and has a few street crossings.

The private courses you list are not on packages, but probably no more
expensive than the premium package courses.

River Club also doesn't have a range, in case you want a range on your
first day.

I have played all 3 (5 ,6 & 7) and Founders was my least favorite course of the 3.

I will be in town the on those days but I don't golf until the 10th /

I'm not liking the forecast for those dates, but the long range forecasts are not reliable.

Enjoy your trip

So can any locals or smart folks help me understand the flood warnings for Pawleys? The forecast looks good for next week but are the courses going to be flooded, CPO, or closed?

I have not heard any course flooding talk.   I looked up articles and they seem to say Charleston.

You might have to call your courses.   It is possible that rivers near Pawleys can overflow.

I just arrived in MB, central MB is not flooded.   It was dark when I passed Aberdeen, so I could not see
if it was flooded.   I did not see any storm signs along I95.

@brattenj The major flood warnings are for the Santee River in Georgetown County. It's showing up for Pawleys Island because Pawleys is also in Georgetown County; most of the Myrtle area is in Horry County.

The Santee empties into the ocean probably 15-20 miles south of Pawleys, though, and so it shouldn't have any effect at all on the Pawleys area. It just happens to be in the same county.

EDIT: Actually I see there's a flood warning for the Waccamaw River too. That potentially could affect the Pawleys area, because the Waccamaw is the river that runs right next to Wachesaw Plantation, Caledonia, and Heritage Club (the 18th holes at Caledonia and Wachesaw are on the Waccamaw). That said, the warning specifically mentions the Waccamaw at Conway, and it only mentions minor flooding. It also says the Waccamaw is supposed to crest tonight or tomorrow, so even if there is some minor flooding, it should be completely gone by next week.
