A week back we played the Palmetto course. All Covid-19 safety measures in full effect and from the bag drop to the clubhouse to the starter everyone was extremely pleasant. It was a beautiful day for golf, sunny and 65 although with a fairly significant breeze which is pretty standard for this time of year.

I've always liked the layout at Palmetto, particularly the back 9 and found it to be a solid but not an extraordinary course with decent conditions. However, this time around the conditions were as good as I've seen them and the best I've played yet down here this spring, which includes BF Fazio, Rivers Edge and Kings North to name a few. We're playing Grande Dunes tomorrow, which I'm sure wont disappoint,  so hopefully this statement changes but it wont be easy.

The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in fantastic shape and the rough was nice, well manicured and seemed to sit the ball up for us anytime we were in there. I was really impressed by what they've done there and hope it lasts as I will definitely plan to return much faster based on this exceptional experience. Highly recommend Palmetto.

I also felt MW Palmetto is improved with the new bunkers + greens, when
I played it in Oct.

How was Rivers Edge?

Rivers Edge was excellent, I really enjoy the course and it was in good shape. I had never driven up there until 2 years ago but now try to at least once a year. Really good course with a nice variety of holes. Quite scenic and peaceful there. That #9 is a real brute !

RE is one of those courses that is worth the drive - it's very special. Glad to hear it is in good shape.

It is certainly possible to play golf and stay safe. Thanks for sharing your report with us.

Thanks for the update about Palmetto.  I drive by there once in a while and from Hwy 17 the conditions looks great.  Thanks for confirming.
