Played here in a PGA chapter event and the course is in excellent condition. Bermuda starting to cone up. Fairways and tees overseeded, greens au naturel and putted great but not real fast like Surf or Dunes. Back nine is better than the front, a tier one course. Not sure which I like better, resort or members, both are good, but resort has a better overall look to it.

I played GD Members twice in 2013.  It was on package for 1 year, until it got
sold to the current owner.    The greens were Bent Grass then.  Since you said the
greens are au naturel, does that mean they look like a hybrid now?

They may have converted to hybrid greens without us ever hearing about it.

The Resort course does seem to have a better property, plus the waterway.
It seems as if the Members was designed to be more forgiving.    Thanks!

I just played here last week. The greens are still bent. Still had some dimple marks on the greens from recent aeration but should be fine by now. Overall conditioning very good like UCP stated. First 4-5 holes are boring, but #8-9 are good and there's several good holes on the back nine. Overall I prefer the resort layout because of the ICW holes. Members course though has the best practice facility on the Grand Strand along with TPC. I thought the course would be more empty than it was, course was actually packed with play which I guess is good for the financial health of the private club. Thought about joining here, but monthly fee is $175 more than the Surf and initiation twice as much.

1putt1 is correct on the front nine - sorta boring until the end of it, but the conditioning is very good - almost as good as Surf. I think Surf is also a much easier club to find games to play in. As for the greens - I swear they look like a Bermuda strain - did not feel like bent - and could read the grain at the hole. But I have been wrong many times in my life. It's a course worth checking off your list if you've never played it. I prefer a much tighter course - like GD and Surf. The other two pros I played with yesterday were long and wild - but they had a lot of room to spray it and weren't in trouble. #17 at the members is a great short par 4.
