We played here yesterday under sunny skies and temps in the 70's. Course was CPO due to rain earlier in the morning. It was not very busy, we went out as a twosome a few minutes before our teetime. Course is in nice shape all around but it was quite wet. Had mud balls on many holes but no big deal. This was the first time I have played this course from the gold tees and makes quite a difference. I think next time I might do a blended white/gold round. Fun course on a warm January day, can' t beat that !
Enjoyed this course has some good holes. Thanks for the update

Thanks for sharing your golf experience with us.
The 9th and 18th holes on the Intra Coastal Waterway are nice and tough at Glen Dornoch. How were the greens? Are they painted like last year ?

I am also curious about the greens. Reports later in 2019 were good.
Thanks!

Greens were not painted. Looked like overseed to me. A bit slow to start due to rain in the morning, but a bit faster as the round went on.
I played there for the first time last Saturday and the greens were like concrete. I don't know how many great approach shots we hit into the greens only to see them bounce 4-5 feet in the air and then keep bouncing off the greens. Even the sound of someone chipping from 10 feet of the green was loud when the ball landed.
I have to say 16,17 and 18 are three tough finishing holes.
Surprised they are still open. Not one of my faves, but very playable. 16 is extremely difficult and unfair.

Thanks for your thoughts on Glen Dornoch after playing it for the first time.
I agree concerning the 16th hole. The next one is a good par 3. But i dislike the finishing hole. Never knows if it is better to go straight ahead or to take the road on the right.

Did you think Glen Dor was closing? They got new greens in 2018.
The idea of #16 is OK, but the green is too small for the hole and the back left is
impossible, but the pin is rarely there.
#18 might have been better if the right fairway swept over the marsh, so it would
be a cut off as much as you want tee shot, instead of all or nothing. The left side is a
short carry from the white + Sr tees. Playing up the right side isn't easy, leaves a
200 yard shot to a sliver of green.

I like the tree lined courses with zero homes on the property.
GD fits the bill.
I like it.

2 years ago GD was going to become an RV park and homes -

Heather Glen's closing deal might have saved Glen Dornoch, giving it $ for
the new greens.
Black Bear might become the RV park.

Black Bear is under construction as RV and amusement park. Couple of years ago all the talk was of Glen D closing and becoming an RV resort.
