what happened to this place. on a regular rotation for wednesday league i play in but it is a disaster. even for the $50 price tag not worth it. staff pleasant and efficient. cart girl very nice. that is where the accolades stop. Tees, fairways and greens had almost as much dirt as grass. 2 fairways were CPO because of this 8 and 10. keep in mind not comparing it to the Barefoots/Tidewaters/Caledonias of the world. it is normally in same grouping as Hackler/MNB South Creek and West/Myrtlewoods palmetto and pinehills as far as conditions go. it is basically unplayable even at cheaper price where there are other options. even greens had dirt areas. see attached photo of 18th fairway. unfortunately this was the rule not the exception. will be many months before i venture back and give it a try.
I have seen other bad reports on BR. Weather seems to have caused transition
issues this spring, but BR looks to be suffering more than most.

Yikes! Looks a bit of a mess. Hopefully they figure things out. It's normally a good value course.
Sorry it looks like the last game for your group was lousy but thanks for all the reports.
That's a sad situation, unfortunately!
Played there at the end of April and it was in far better shape!

This is surprising to me because the times that I have played it conditions were always good. Hope they can get it back to better shape as it is usually a good value to play when we are down there in the winter.
In general, Burning Ridge is in good shape during the winter and spring months. So i am surprised of these conditions. Thanks for your report.

well i would like to report that almost 8 weeks later the course has improved. unfortunately it has gotten worse than my last post. even more dirt on fairways. they have been killed by the overly rainy weather MB received through july so it was still CPO. it was UNPLAYABLE and should not be open. had to work on a bunch of fairways to not feel the squish of water under your shoes. played 7 holes and headed to parking lot. balls lost in fairway from plugging. balls lost 5 steps off the fairway in rough they haven't been able to cut because of softness. i realize they are doing the best they can but it is not working. I feel bad for any World Amatuer players who get stuck playing here next week. organizers should really move it if at all possible. would hate for an out of towner to come in for this event for their first time playing World amateur and get stuck with this course. a updating the drainage project is badly needed. Played Hackler GC,which is like 1 miles away as the crow flies, 10 days ago and while it was CPO it was very playable/enjoyable. hopefully a dryer fall will be kind to this course.

Bermuda grass is hard to kill by the weather/rain, unless an area stays flooded.
So if high areas were also bare, they may have made a chemical error sometime
this year.
