Played the Norman course today at Barefoot under mostly sunny skies and mid 60's, now it's been 5 days since the last rain but we had 6 holes CPO today, 5 on the front and 1 on the back, some I would say questionable yet we were getting mud balls on most holes...T boxes, fairways, and greens all had very good overseed, greens were the level of Love 10+, so you had to be hesitant if above any of the pins.
Norman is a more forgiving course versus the other 3, yet to me it's a pleasant ride without worrying about a train wreck about to happen, although it can happen along the inter coastal holes, some of the bunkering you get could get lost in it, our POP for the 3 rounds has been 4-4-1/2 hours, never pushed and always maintaining pace, this place is busy....BTW, I found a flask on the back nine, it was empty and I'm wondering if someone on this forum may of lost it ????

Probably one of the many I have "misplaced" over the years. I enjoy the Norman course as my #2 pick after Fazio.

Thanks for your report on the Norman, IMO a better course then many give it credit for.

One of the main reasons I like Norman is that the greens are receptive to long shots into them. Since I play it at 6500 with that particular group, I have to hit a lot of 3 woods and hybrids into the greens. Can't do that at most other courses.

Thanks for this topo!

Barefoot puts the sprinklers on auto-pilot without regard to moisture content of the ground. Have taken pictures of them watering in the middle of a rain storm. Heck the other day they were watering the middle of the driving range at 4pm, and the grass is dormant, LOL. A few years ago after talking with Dave Genevro (GM) he said they were changing philosophy trying to make Barefoot play firm & fast, but that seemed to go out the window real fast.
