Played Leopards Chase again (previous report from 1 month ago) as I had some family & friends in town. Conditions were as follows:
Tees - OK. Worse than a month ago but still OK.
Fairways - Good enough. A little uneven in spots.
Rough - Meh. They have a lot of inconsistent grass types.
Bunkers - Not good. I could give them a pass because of heavy rains shortly before playing the last time. This time...was not good. There's very little sand in many of the bunkers. Some of the lips look like they are missing 8 to 12 inches of sand with how much they are exposed. A few of the bunkers have a ton of sand. This was disappointing.
Greens - They punched their greens somewhat recently. They were a little bumpy and medium speed. Much different than a month ago when they were as true as could be.
Cart Paths - Bump at the bag drop area is from a pine tree root. In most cases, good.
Pace of Play - Not bad. Around 4 hours, 15 minutes.
I would wait another week to let the greens heal. Bunkers are disappointing. Consistency of the grass leaves something to be desired too.
Maybe sand in bunkers is washed down to the low side.
Thanks!

The bunkers were terrible when I played there in early-mid June, too.
Overall the course is in much better shape than Tiger's Eye/Lion's Paw/Panther's Run, but it's still noticeably worse than some of the other options nearby.
Yep. They weren't good. The greens were soooooo good when I played them a week or so before you back in June that I may have not noticed the bunkers as much. I was only in one during that round too. But they weren't good last week.
Comparing it to the Pearl played two days later, at the Pearl, you can see consistent Bermuda on the fairway and rough and it is very green. Leopards Chase has a mismash of grass in the rough and parts of the fairways have problems too. It's not really bad to play but it certainly takes away from the aesthetic.
