My group is trying to decided on the 4th round to play for our June trip. We are already set on Heritage, True Blue, and Caledonia. For the 4th round we are looking at Pawleys Plantation or TPC. Most of the group has played both courses and honestly the initial experience wasn't the best. We played TPC the day before they shut down to aerate and it just felt like they stopped maintaining the course. And prior to the renovation we were impressed with the overall quality of the course at Pawleys.
But with that renovation it looks like Pawleys has tried to improve the quality of the course. And TPC courses are normally top notch and we would like to give TPC a second chance.
What would you all recommend?
I'm voting Pawleys so you can check out the renovation

In June, it's good to check when the courses aerate greens.
I would not be surprised if a course doesn't mow, rake, etc,
the day before a maintenance starts.
If your last play at TPC was awhile ago, it seems to be
better than ever now. Pawleys conditions haven't been
consistent. After a renovation like Pawleys did,
courses usually concentrate on maint more.

Best choice might be what some guys in your group are
requesting.
My group is playing TPC + Pawleys at beginning of May.
The Pawleys par 3 #13 now has a bigger green, but it
appears to me that with the angle of the shot, all pin
positions will still offer a shallow green. Same with
#17.
