Dr. Birdie & Mr. Triple
If your wondering what happened Tidewater on monday...total rainout so we switched our Monday morning tw round to Wednesday pm, so now tomorrow is Arrowhead in the am & Tidwater in sfternoon.
Meadowlands..8 am Temps around 47* & winds around 10-12 mph meant multiple layers at tee off, & never did get much above low 60's.
We've tried to play Meadowlands twice before...both as a replay after an am round at Farmstead, & both times we quit before 9 holes. Once due to pop...we were on pace for a little over 3hrs for the front, the other due to greens that were running somewhere around 4 on the stimp meter.
Happy to report both problems have been solved, greens were smooth & consistent with good pace all day. As others have reported, Fairway overseed is lush & green, but you did get tight lies in the rough.
Thought we were in for a long day when we arrived, as the bag drop was packed & hectic. To their credit, the guys at the bag drop were well organized and kept things moving. They would call your name when you were 2 groups away from the tee & point out to us which group we were following. Pop was great, considering the volume of people and double teeing. We played in just under 4 hours in the AM, & 4 on the nose in the pm. About every 2-3 holes we would see the ranger go byv& wave., good to see them monitoring things.
So far, so good, right? All in all, a very pleasant day, even after 3 straight triple bogeys to open the morning round, some self-inflicted & some due to unseem hazards in the fairways. Several holes require near perfect placement &/or distance off the tee, or else you are wet or in bunkers.
Shot my 2nd worst ever 9 hole score on the front....56!!!!! Did manage to wake up on the back with a 39, including 2 birdies. The afternoon was less eventful & near matching 9's.
So my game today was feast or famine all day.
The bottom line... we'll run, great conditions right now, & was a very enjoyable day, but don't think I'll go back anytime soon, mainly due to the way a few of the holes are laid out, mostly on front nine. #3 comes immediately to mind along with #17(?) Multiple holes that just made no sense to me.
So the remainder of the trip looks great, tomorrow is Arrowhead & Tidewater. Thursday is 36 @ River's edge, & tge finale Friday at Crow Creek. Forecast looks sunny from here on out.

Ps...met Nobs for drinks & dinner at Handleys Pub in Carolina Forest. Great food, good company & lots of laughs.
Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle.
ML #3 used to be even tougher. They added fairway to the right of the pond.
It's still tough.
Is Nobbs ready to tell us where he is booking now?

Sorry to hear Mr Triple showed up.. He's a real Jagbag.. but that's a damn good 95 after a 56 on the opening 9.
I don't like golfing when it's 48 degrees out and it seems like you don't either
Hope Nobbs is doing okay

Last year we stayed at the North Tower and the guys loved it. Nice accommodations and everyone enjoyed hanging out on the balcony late night overlooking the waterway.
Great trip report so far!!!
You'll miss the season opener at the the Lake this weekend!
Thanks for the report. The great second nine always makes up for the lackluster front.
@skippy Is the north tower different from the other 3 at the yacht club?
Wolf...I have no idea, other than it has gated parking lot. I've never been in any of the other 3.

Hey Art, sorry gor the delay. Brian has been learning the new software, etc, with the new gig and at first he's been focusing on their available properties. Starting to branch into the golf end of things, but still a ways to go before he has things set up. I'm sure he'll let us know when he's up & running 100%

Learning the properties must mean Brian wasn't booking those before.
At BF Yacht Club, do they have a breakfast restaurant in the building or one of the
BF towers next door?
