I would like to have the forum opinion. If I have to choose between river club and tradition, which one is better and why?
Thank you
Hugo
I like the routing at River Club better, but both are good. Tradition has a very nice practice area, River Club has no driving range. I would play RC over Trad.

Close call, both are very good. Tradition has a great practice area River Club has none. When I played Tradition earlier this spring the greens were very good and never had a conditioning issue there. River Club has some good holes on it. Overall a close toss-up for me, can't go wrong with either.
I prefer River Club for more memorable holes.
RC has more water, but also is more forgiving off the tee.
No range, but has a net to hit into, a chipping green and a putting green.
They are near each other and replay each other if replaying.

I'm a big fan of Tradition. The course always seems to be well maintained. I especially like #7. I play it as layup hole and try to stick a wedge. In my youth, I always went for it and suffered the consequences, but no longer.
Nothin Could be Finer !!!!!!
I have played both twice. I prefer Tradition, it just suits my eye.

Ok seems like RC has a little edge over tradition. I might play both.
Thanks

Playing both would be a good 36 hole day or if like me do it over 2 days.

the more you play a course, the more you understand what the architect was trying to accomplish. I really haven't played both courses enough since they are south, but as stated earlier, I like the RC routing a little better. That said - most courses in MB are real estate courses and the architect is limited by what he can do unless you are a barefoot.

Tough call, I would say River Club by a slim margin. Tradition does have a nice driving range and practice area. I give River Club the edge for the course. Can't go wrong either way though.
I played both on the same trip a few years back.... I much preferred Tradition, but that is admittedly biased by the fact that we had a very slow round at River Club and I played probably the worst I had played in years that day. I think i got it all started with a 9 on the first hole after hooking a driver into the woods, then chunking my approach into the water in front of the green. Also, the for round at Tradition I played one of my personal best rounds ...
You can't go wrong with either course - both are beautiful fun layouts and usually in good shape.
Personal performance bias aside, I still give preference to Tradition as they have a decent practice facility to warm up, and when I played the conditions were slightly better at Tradition vs River Club
I like RC's layout but hate no range. Tradition is a very nice course and have a range but that is me.
Let the Big Dawg Bark!!!
