Hi,
Thinking of playing/staying up north next year. Current plan is to play 4 rounds - Tidewater and/or Leopard Chase and then wondering how you would you rank these:
The Pearl, River Hills, Sea Trail Byrd (or other ST course), Sandpiper Bay for the other rounds. Having played TW and LC I know they're not necessarily easy so looking for maybe a couple of
more playable courses since we have a mix of handicaps and some seniors (oldest 81 or 82). Prefer courses with decent conditions though realize by next year who knows.
I'm skipping Thistle, Glen Dornoch, River's Edge, Tiger's Eye, Crow Creek, Meadowlands, the Barefoots for various reasons - mainly we've played them on recent trips.
Cost not really an issue - we played Caledonia, True Blue, Heritage, and Pawleys Plantation last year, and those are pretty tough courses - so looking for some "easier" alternatives.
Thanks for your feedback,
Pete
TW is redoing the bunkers this winter, so should look newer.
LC was really good in Oct.
The Pearl is next and adds scenery.
River Hills is getting good reports after new greens 2 years ago.
These 2 are always recommended.
ST Byrd just reopened after a big renovation with new everything.
It should be a good choice for a more playable.
ST Maples + Jones should be skipped, due to conditions.
Maples will be renovated summer of 2025.
Sandpiper is also in the more playable category.
If you are favoring more playable than last year, something like
SPB - ST Byrd - The Pearl - TW is good.
