Played Tidewater for the first time in about 5 years. PoP was 4 hours on the button.

TEE TO GREEN: Wow! Tees great. Fairways the best I've seen on a course in the last 10 weeks. Collars very good. Shown in order are: 5, 11, 14, plus a closeup of a fairway on the back nine. Just perfect.

Tidewater5th (1)
Tidewater11th (2)
Tidewater14th (2)
Tidewater (2)

GREENS: Nota bene. The greens today would NOT win any beauty contest BUT they putted beautifully-and quick. Wild stimp guess-at least 9.5. I mistakenly remembered Tidewater's greens with more bold contours. Not the case today. Back nine set definitely seemed to have more (subtle/internal) movement than the front side.

BUNKERS: The flat(tish) areas of the traps had more compacted sand than the courses I've played lately. Not a criticism, just an observation. VERY tight lies mostly. (Side rant: I'm a gamer and play it where it lies but even without rakes, at least make an attempt to smooth your "craters." Found myself in one shoe depression that was beyond my capabilities).

THE SKINNY: Very good course. If you're a first timer, know the LZs-some of the fairways seem large but cant towards trouble or lost balls. GPS on the carts. For us old timers-yes, a yardage book! Clubhouse/bag staff exceptional. If it were a lower price point, I'd play Tidewater much, much, more often.

I'm very happy that TW is back to their normal greatness after a couple down years in the mid 2010's.

I played TW for my last round in October 2018 and was shocked at the fantastic conditions.

That was one of my favorite MB rounds in the history of my MB  golf.

Thanks for the report

I wonder if the fairways are still overseed or all bermuda now?
With the cart tracks and color, kinda looks like overseed.

If someone knows to dig in for a bunker shot, they should know to
at least smooth the holes with their feet.   With no rakes and a fun
round, it's fair to take a drop.

Thanks!

Craters in the bunkers are frequent now. There are no rakes in the bunkers. Even if you are a gamer i would have take a mulligan. Your reputation as a Champion would have been preserved...????

One of my favorites in MB, had a great playing partner that day also. I will be back to this one. thanks for the update and i agree with you people could smooth the sand with their feet but they are the same that dont use a rake either.

Just like you, the last time I played there I was paired with one wonderful fellow partner! 😉
