Not sure this link will play. I am a rules official for a kids tournament at Surf. Before play started, I dropped a ball 25 feet away from the pin and it rolled 12 feet past. On the 9th green.

Respecting the opinions of those who have been raving about the Surf Club, I think that our fall group should go back there next October. We have played there four or five times, but not for several years.

I played the Surf on Tuesday, hit 15 greens in reg from the white tees and barely broke 80 (79). The greens had to be about a 14 on the stimp. I've played Oakmont in the past, and these were faster and more severe. On #14 I had a 4 foot side-hill putt for birdie and about 12 feet coming back, walked off with a bogey, LOL. There were other holes with a back pin if the ball was hole-high there was no chance at a two-putt par cause you'd have to play 10 feet of break up to the back fringe and hope. Hopefully they slowed them down a least a little bit for the kids this weekend.
Notice in the video that there are a bunch of old hole locations around the
flag stick, but none between your drop and the hole. Looks like they know the middle
of the green is too steep for a hole.

If the Surf greens were just lightning fast that would be one thing - but with the slopes and undulation of Surf, it brings putting into a whole nother world. A 2 foot downhill putt becomes treacherous because a miss may mean a 10 to 20 footer coming back. But man are they true!

I miss Kelly Tighlman since of his departure of the Golf Channel in 2018.

They asked the question to the panel on the Golf Channel and the question was if you could just play one course or if you had one round left where would you play and she chose the Surf Club.

I concur on the speed. Fastest greens I played since TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course. Others in group compared to Bethpage when they played. They do put pretty true if you read them. I felt like I was 1 putt or 3!
Highly recommend playing. UGP's prior reviews and rankings of it is why we played. He is not wrong. Top 10 course in MB, even if it is not top 5.
