I just checked out Blackmoor's webcam on the 18th green and the green appears to be covered. Is this do to the cold weather? How many other courses do this?
According to WPDE, the best place for to know the weather conditions in Myrtle Beach, rain to freezing rain and significant ice accumulations are likely for the day. They have covered the 18th green probably as a protection against the freeze. Do you know if all the greens are covered also?

I know they are covering them at Myrtlewood and Pawly's Plantation today and tomorrow, as the have cancelled my tee times

For those courses that have covers, I think you'll find that all have applied the covers as the forecast has some temps in the 20's for several hours over the next couple of days. Many have already closed for today and tomorrow; some are also closing for Sunday and some are reserving for announcement.

About 5 years ago, it was a cold winter and a lot of courses had
winter kill damage on the greens. A handful of courses that had
covers were not affected. After that, a lot of courses bought
greens covers. I have never seen a list of who has them.
While it's an expense to use the covers, on the days they use the
covers, there will be little or no play anyway.

It's probably the ice storm they are expecting tonight.
Because of the weather all of the Founders courses are closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Covers are necessary when the temps get below freezing or else you run the risk of root damage and other issues.
As was mentioned above, there was a bad cold snap a few years ago in the Myrtle area and numerous courses had serious damage to their greens. There are a lot of private courses in NC that will likely be closed to members for a couple of weeks straight due to the prolonged cold weather and the desire to keep the greens covered so that they will stay healthy for the spring.
The issue is the length of the freezing temps which will be basically all day Friday, Saturday, and into mid morning Sunday. Surf is closed through Monday

Covering the greens is a very labor intensive process. They’re not going to take them off until the weather warms up. Sunday night is going to be in the 20s. Probably Monday at the earliest. If you have to play not all of the courses cover their greens. You can call around to see which ones haven’t.
The safe bet is to call the course before making an online tee time. The weather predicted for Sunday is not conducive to getting staff out there to remove the covers. Most covers will continue to have ice on them thus making it difficult for the staff to maneuver. In addition, if temps continue to get into the 20's, the staff will wait for some warmth.

You could try a budget course that may not cover and may not be as
concerned.
MOW + Wizard have bent greens and may not cover them, but would have
a frost delay.
