UGP fills our 4th slot today, & a good times was had by all. Course still pretty wet from heavy rain last week...mud balls were the order of the day., almost every drive was a mud ball.. Short wedge shots around the green that landed on the close mowed but soft grass around the green would stop where they hit.No chip & run through collars & fringe.

Tees were fine, green were near flawless, rolled smooth & at a good speed. If the course was dry & a little firmer, it would be near perfect.

We all agreed this was the hardest we've ever seen Farmstead play. Not much runout, if any, on drives, and tough to chip off soft wet Bermuda.

But you would never convince UGP of that, since he fired a smooth 33 on the front, including a double bogey on the short par 3 third. He shot 68...the garage sale putter was on fire, rolling them in from everywhere.

The 3 of us did a 2nd round after lunch, very unspectacular play, but still good for some laughs.

Had a great time playing with UGP, hopefully the rain holds off tomorrow, where he joins us again at Rivers Edge.

ps.....California Dreaming just south of barefoot on 17 is closed, along with House of Blues

All for now, see ya tomorrow

There's not a LOT of this length rough on the course, but there is some. Good idea to steer clear if you can

Good stuff Skippy

Looks like the $5 garage sale putter works like a $500 Bettinardi should

I am thinking that the rains may have made them fall behind moving the
rough.   Now if they cut it shorter it will likely be all brown, so maybe they
will wait until dormancy, so it doesn't look bad.

Thanks for reporting.

@artmbgolf

The rough I videod is mostly just surrounding tees or out of play, it's not the rough you find just off the fairway. Still, a wild enough shot may find stuff like wh a t I taped.

What a great time playing with the Skiparoo. Good people on a well conditioned course - greens are fantastic as always rolling 10. The double was very easy - chunk a 9 iron, shank a 60 degree wedge, chunk a chip shot, and two putt from the fringe.

Thanks for the report.  I'm in mourning over the closing of California Dreaming.  That was my favorite restaurant in the NMB area.  Ate there multiple times each trip down.  Also will miss House of Blues.

Pretty sure that UGP is aware of the 45 day rule when purchasing equipment.  The club will work really well for the first 45 days then it goes back to being just another club in the bag!

Actually the rule is when the credit card is paid off the club stops working. Since I paid cash the putter should work for a longer time.

The Barefoot area Calif Dreaming is their smaller less popular location,
so I am thinking that it could be closed for the winter or until visitor
volume increases.
