Looking at properties in Murrells Inlet and stumbled across some duplexes going up inside Blackmoor. Local builder that I haven’t heard about. Almond Builders.

Does anyone know about them or what living in Blackmoor, in general, is like?

As a visiting golfer, not living at Blackmoor, my description is the course has various
developments on the course and nearby.

You have Int Club and TPC close by and can now get on Rt 31 if going north.
You should be mostly away from the tourists.

Art,

Long time since I've been to Myrtle.  If I am staying at the Legends resort and going to the Heritage Golf club in Pawleys island, can I get on Bypass 31 at 501 and go South to hit 17 near Murrell Inlet? If yes, what do you think the total drive time would be?

Thanks!

@ncbrownie

I know you asked Art this question but I have traveled the route you are asking about recently.  You can take 31 off of 501 all the way to 707 now, 707 is also 4 lanes all the way to 17 then south down to Heritage.  My best guess if the traffic is fairly busy is 35 to 40 minutes once you get out of the Legends Complex.  You will also pass by Blackmoor along the way while your on 707.

You'll take 31 to 707 and go south on 707 to hook up on 17. Probably 35/40 minutes

I have not driven the new extension part of Rt 31 from 544 to 707 yet, but I agree
with what Gary + UGP posted.

Traffic on Rt 31 always moves well.  Use it when possible.

I'd be a bit concerned about buying in Blackmoor as I think it would be more susceptible to closing down in the future than other area courses. Already had Island Green and Heron Point in that area close down.

@mbgt-golf-gourse-reviewer

would you have the same concerns inside Prince Creek and close to the TPC?

I would not have those same concerns building in TPC.

The question you have to ask yourself, "do I want to live on a golf course or not?"

We are closing on a new home in Pawley's Island early next week. Our preferences: 1. no gated community, 2. close to but not far from the beach, 3. an area with limited ability to support a production builder such as Pulte, 4. not on a golf course (if it closes down then number 3 comes into play.)

Check the deed restrictions if buying on a course - some can never be developed, but they can be closed.
