I used to not like Shaft, but now find the layout pretty good. They have made it look better with the added waste bunkers giving it better definition. Course was in playable condition. Tees and fairways a little weak, would be hard to play the ball down. Greens rolled fine except they were VERY Slow maybe 7. Forgot to take pictures until late in the round - I will play here again, some strong holes, 9 and 18 are tough.

Meant to add that this course plays longer than it's yardage - all greens are elevated and play a half club longer.

Thanks UGP.

I've played Shaft 3 times and I'm a big fan.

Maybe you caught on a bad day.

Usually perfect fairways.

I like to play SG each year. The elevated greens are a factor to take in consideration. Nice pics!

The new bunkering does makes SG look more modern than previously.

Thanks!

Usually perfect fairways.

They weren't bad - just would have been difficult to play the ball down.

Thanks for the report.  Like the course but those elevated greens make for some tough up & downs.

Played this course years ago getting a Rain Check from someone on the board. I played with another Member of the board, his friend and my BIL. I really enjoyed the course, it has since been updated and look forward to playing it again.

Thanks for the update UGP!

@artmbgolf

Agree with you Art, the new bunkers do give the course a much better look, we always get there when we can.

Got 2.75 inches last night (Saturday) not sure yet how bad we'll get hit Monday and Tuesday.  Good round - missed my age by 1 at Prestwick
