Artist 08 asked me why I haven't posted lately - it's because I haven't played much golf in November. So here is a quick recap of the few places I played.
Farmstead - good overseed, good condition as always - greens not overseeded, but, I can see issues coming on their greens unless they are already treating for it - fairy ring has spread on many of their greens. At this point it's not affecting the putting but will if left untreated. (see pick, not of Farmstead)
Southcreek - Decent shape on the fairways, they were wet in several areas. Greens overseeded and were very puttable at 9. Fairly easy course if you keep the ball in play - one of my favorites for pure enjoyment. #10 is one of the best par 5's in town.
Meadowlands - See Farmstead without the fairy ring.
Kings North - Greens overseeded and rolling pretty fast at 10 and true.
And that's the extent of my November golf so far - Grande Dunes is next!
Then it looks like cold weather for awhile
Golf is just an excuse to drink whiskey and smoke cigars
Thought maybe you had retired.
Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle.
Feeling way better knowing you're still alive and well @UGP! 😉
Thanks again for sharing!

Is Fairy Ring a disease?
When I have seen spots like that, I thought maybe there was a heavy
rain after dropping fertilizer and it puddled up. Just a guess.

Thanks for the updates and learning a new term Fairy ring.

I'm also curious. Those rings appeared on the greens at my home course two years ago. As UGP said it really did not affect putting but they lasted quite a long time.
He’s back! UGP - get out there and play in the cold. Dig out your cart cover and heater.
I played today and probably won’t get to play anytime soon.
Your term of Fairy Ring could be the thing, here some call it Halo Ring.
It is fun to read you again UGP. Good golf!

I bet we had about 10 inches of snow yesterday. It’s already melting, though. Who knows when I’ll get a chance to play again now. I took the clubs to the basement and got out the ol’ snowblower. Ugh!
I did make 6 birdies in that last round and shot 71, so at least I still have pleasant memories. 🙂
Here in my part of NE Ohio we got just 2" of snow where some places got up to 20"! Will melt off in the next few days, but my home course closed for the year on 12/1. Now I can only read posts from those of you who can still play.
Thanks goodness in central Texas we don't get any snow very often. Played to 48 degrees and 20 to 30 miles an hour north wind. Shot 75 with a double. be safe
my friends!
