I think that you are correct. The course at Brick Landing Plantation Golf Club was designed by Mike Brazeal. The golf course opened in 1987. But Maples has renovated the course in 2007-2008.
I really miss Marsh Harbour; it was a fun layout, had all the characteristics that we all want: marine forest, elevation changes, spectacular marsh holes, tee off in one state and land in another, comfy clubhouse... all contributing to abundant memories. It was a sad day when it shut down as the accolades were unending. Ocean Harbour was essentially the same, this was the quintessential marsh and river side layout. The last few holes were terrific. It was tight off the tee, especially 17 & 18, so picturesque along the Calabash River. The level of golf in Calabash suffered when these courses closed.
As a 3 shot hole, it was about a white tee 3-wood, 7-iron, PW.
I once made it across in 2 with a 3 wood and was left of the front of the green bunker. Only made par. That was in the Persimmon Wood + Balata Ball era.
You short knocker. LOL! I made it on in 2 a couple of times, but with newer equipment. Marsh Harbour is my all-time sentimental favorite course in MB area. What I wouldn't give for another crack at #17.........It would, however, be from the senior tees wink, wink.
