DIAMONDBACK with UGP 10/08/19
We teed off about 8 this morning and got done around 11:15 or 11:30 ...there was only one foursome in front of us .. we caught them on number 4 and then they let us through after the 9th hole.
Diamondback is a mid-tier course but it is in very good condition.
The (self proclaimed ) King of The Mid-tiers (me) ..highly recommends Diamondback .
New greens added a year ago and they are good. Today they were about a nine on the stimp.. similar to Parkland yesterday.
Tee boxes and Fairways were good and the one bunker I was in was good.
Cart paths? In very good condition .
The owner/ is putting money into this course and I noticed it right away. I last played DB about 6 years ago.
Its only about 10 minutes past Aberdeen on rt9.
If you have an opportunity to play DB soon, take it.

A great time was had by both of us - JW played very well except for the two par 5's on the front. 79 with the two doubles. Congrats. He definitely has a hot putter with a grip that's the size of a small person!
I am a big fan of Diamondback, it requires you to drive the ball well. Plenty of room on most of the holes, but when you run out of room, it's likely a penalty. The pro is Patrick, he's a great guy and works hard. They have spent their money well and as JW said, the surfaces are good. Love the new greens, they will be over seeding the fairways and tees but not the greens. Forgot to get a date. The paths are better than most in MB.
JW - you were supposed to upload the pic!
Golf is just an excuse to drink whiskey and smoke cigars
Lefty..it's a lot better than it used to be.
From what I heard yesterday, the solo owner used to have partners that didn't want to spend $, and he bought them out. Now he is improving the course. It doesn't have a bad hole in my opinion and has several great holes. The conditions are very good right now.
This is truly a Diamondback is the rough.
I would have this in my rotation if I lived here.

Diamondback was once a very nicely conditioned track, the TLC required to keep it that way was not there though, good to hear you say the owner is now taking care of things.
I'm sure I can twist UGP's arm gently to get him there again with my friends down there, price is always attractive as well. Enjoy the rest of your trip and looking forward to reading all your thoughts on where you play.
Your also correct on the nice holes there, hole 10 a Par 5 always had my number, hope to now put that in the past.
