Brunswick & Cape Fear National clubs have been sold to the Heritage group. Brunswick slated for improvements, Cape Fear to go private.

Brunswick is getting good reports as mostly a warmup, budget,
locals course.

I don't feel that improvements, although welcome, can elevate it to
compete with other popular MB courses for package play, if the goal is
to make it a upscale resort.

@artmbgolf They could have a long-term plan to make it private like Cape Fear. There are certainly enough houses/condos on site to support a membership.

Taking Brunswick Plantation private would be a real challenge.  Much of the traffic on the golf course is rooted in the stay & play packages that are sold through Brunswick Plantation.  The thought among residents is the business model will continue with the new ownership.  There is a mix of members, loyalty group members plus the stay & play golfers.  I think you'll find that Brunswick Plantation runs above average for annual number of rounds.  The one local knock is residents of Brunswick Plantation are not encouraged to play the course unless you are a member or loyalty subscriber.  Property owners who are not members are charged $70 for greens fee which is well above the market.  I do not believe Brunswick Plantation accepts the MB Passport for a reduced rate.

@dch1950 Brunswick is currently on the MB Passport, but it's possible the new owners will take it off.
