Played another round at Oyster Bay last week.  Conditions are described below:

Tees - OK to good.  Nothing to complain about.

Fairways - High/shaggy.  Not sure why.  Like hitting out of thin rough.

Rough - For the most part, good.  We did lose one ball in a thick patch.  There are more areas where exposed tree roots can come into play than I would like.  I don't know how you remedy that...except maybe to remove more trees!

Bunkers - No rakes.  It doesn't seem like they are doing much maintenance on the bunkers.

Greens - Good.  Probably running around 9 on the Stimp.  Smooth, with good coverage.  A few had some thin spots or some sod patches but not enough to be an issue.  #6 has some issues on the left side of the green (if on the tee).  The cup was far enough away to where it wasn't a big deal.

Cart Paths - Haven't changed in two weeks since I last played it.  Still terrible.

PoP - Good.  Our group moved along well and it took us right around 4 hours.

We were told that they are not doing the breakfast, lunch, and two drinks any longer.  I didn't see anyone else eating or drinking in the clubhouse.

Other than the fairways (which shouldn't keep you away from the course), Oyster Bay is worth playing.  Hopefully conditions will remain solid through the fall so more people play it and we receive more reports.

Is it OB or all of Legends dropping the food/drinks?

Thanks for reporting.

@6542golf

It surprised me as every other time I've played at OB, it included the bfast, lunch, & two drink deal.  Two or three weeks ago when I played OB, the deal was included.

Could it have been a short term problem with the kitchen at OB?

Not sure.  My Dad and Uncle showed up before me and were in the dining area eating sandwiches for breakfast.  I asked them for my tickets and they told me OB is not doing the breakfast, lunch, and two drinks any longer.  I also saw signs at the bar with prices of what they are offering for lunch.  The breakfast sandwich was $4 and the lunch deals were $5.

Legends stopped with the meal deal a couple months ago

Thanks for the update.  That would make sense as when I played it in early September with a different group we all had the meal tickets.  Those rounds were booked several months ago, which I'm sure they are still honoring up until all of those rounds have been played.

Is it possible that Legends dropped the meal deal only for Passport rounds?

Legends website + Packagers still list it with the food.

I was surprised they offered the food with locals rates, but maybe they felt
they needed to in order to get locals to fight the crowds.

@artmbgolf

It's possible and I was thinking that could be it.  This was the only time I've played OB since they started offering the meal deal where it was not made available to me or my group.  My most recent round was booked with the Passport rate.
