12 Sep 2020 - Thistle (Stewart to MacKay)
Played a mid-morning round at Thistle. Conditions were wet because of a steady amount of recent rain.
Tees - Good. A few really soft spots because of the rain.
Fairways - Good to very good.
Rough - Good to very good.
Bunkers - Even with a lot of rain, they were quite good and well maintained.
Greens - Very good. Probably rolling 9.5 and very true (except for one putt that took at 45 degree turn and robbed me of par).
Cart Paths - Excellent. They win the JW award for Excellence in Cartpathery!
PoP - Good. Our group was steady at a little over 4 hours.
Thistle provides an upscale golf experience. From the plush seats on the carts, to the conditioning of the course, the impressive drive up to the outstanding clubhouse, the place is first rate. The golf course is excellent. Very fair, interesting, and well conditioned.
It's worth going out of the way to play and definitely one to consider if you're in town for package play.
I'll write up a Trip Report for the group of 15 + 1 local (me) in another section that visited as part of their annual golf trip. We were lucky the rain held off and everyone was able to complete their rounds.
