SC Residency questions?

Appreciate any advice from anyone who can help me do the following with one trip to the DMV. I've been a home owner in the MB area since 2001, but have yet to establish residency, which I want to do next week. I recently bought a car from a neighbor and want to register it in SC and obtain a SC driver's license.

Per the SCDMV website, I have a general idea of what I need to take with me, but there is no substitute for knowledge gained from folks who have been there and done that. Like can I get the car registered and get a license at one window? Thanks for any input.

Bring everything that identifies you - including a passport if you have it. Registration of your vehicle is easy - I believe you do that first - and pay them MONEY - but not in the same room as where you get your license and license plate. I did mine in Little River - pretty easy location, better than Conway. Lot's of forms to fill out - probably a second trip cause you don't have something they want. You will get your license and plate when you are at the DMV in the same room. FYI - the people there were very nice. Lines don't look anything like when I moved to Los Angeles - that was a nightmare and about 3 hours! If your wife is anything like mine - make sure she is with you cause my wife has everything in a secret folder!

Thanks, I've been to the little river location a couple times for golf cart registration.

If you go on the SC DMV website you can print a check list which shows you everything that you need. Make sure you have everything because they have no problem sending you away without your new license.

I've been to the website, but had not noticed an option to print out a check list. That will certainly be handy.

Here you go. Good thing is that you don’t have to take a test.

I should have had my wife answer this post - she gets all the information and just tells me what to do and where to go.

Where are you moving from?  Just went through this last year.  Be ready to surrender you license from other state.

Technically,  I'm not moving as much as I'm establishing residency. Been a homeowner for a long time, just been living in WV most of the time.

Yeah, almost 4K, which is the motivation here, plus I want to register the car in SC.

Wait...is this Jim B.?  Can't remember all of the names with the site change, plus I've been absent from the site for awhile as well.

Yeah, it's me. FWIW, got all my stuff taken care and it only took three trips. ? Basically, the seller messed up the title and bill of sale, or one trip would have sufficed.

I thought it was. lol  We actually played (or I attempted to) together about three years ago or so.  You graciously hosted me over at Barefoot Norman for a round and a couple of beers and taco soup afterwards by the driving range.  Made the move down here myself last May.  So are you permanent down here now or still traveling back in forth?
