I've settled into the Golf Director postion at Myrtle Beach Golf Authority/Elliott Realty. In the past I was an Independant Golf Package Provider and we offered mainly 2 and 3 bedroom golf resort condos at places like Myrtlewood, Barefoot, Crow Creek, Wachesaw East, True Blue, Tidewater, etc ... along with hotel rooms. I have done this for 27 years, now I'm with a Vacation Property Management Company and we have 1,200-1,500 properties and we manage some very nice homes and condos. We have a few condos at Barefoot and a few at The Surf Club for those of you who like the golf condos. What I have now, that I didn't have access to before is larger homes and condos, 4-8 bedroom condos and homes that are perfect for larger groups. We have budget properties and we have properites that are right out of the pages of Southern Magazine and Better Homes and Gardens.

there has been no expense spared with this property.

I can offer this property and other like it in the Spring and Fall for a nice discount, as these Home Owners make their money in the Summer. These properties have a tendancy to be underutilized in the Spring and Fall. I've worked with our Elite Property Manager to offer properties like these to goflers and do it at an attractive rate. Will they be $45 a night in cost like Myrtlewood, etc ... heck no, they'll be more than that but they're not going to be $10,000 for the week, more like $7500 - most of these properties have 12 large beds and with 12 people you're looking at approx $625 per perosn for a week, less than $100 a day to stay in style and luxury. 2 people can barely stay in an ocean front hotel room for that much less have all the amenities and all 12 of you together. Plus if it rains and golf is a NO GO, you're not stuck in a 850 sq foot 2 bedroom condo looking at 3 dudes! You're in a 4500 sq foot 3 level mansion with game rooms, theaters, poker tables, putting green, etc ...

Just making you guys aware that there are opportunites to stay at nicer places other than those worn out, twin bed properties that most have been utilizng for year with out breaking the bank.

Central or north Myrtle Beach

Setting up this years trip and I’m debating between playing northern courses and staying at the Glens or playing central and staying at Myrtlewood. I hear Myrtlewood is hit and miss and have never had a bad experience at The Glens.
mare there any other decent places to stay (not on 501). Thanks fir any help.

How to Use the Q&A Forums - Please Read Before Posting

With the change to the new forum software, we have an opportunity to have a different type of forum. The posts in the Q&A forums are a little bit different than what we have used in the past. These posts are meant to:

Be short lived - What I mean by that is that the value of the discussion has a limited useful life. Questions like "How are the conditions at River's Edge" really only are valuable for a week or so, maybe two. However, a discussion like "What do you think of the historical greens issue at SuchinSuch Course" is much more valuable as a long term discussion. The first question is perfect for the Q&A forum, the other for the Talk/Advice forum
Show the best answer at the top - As people knowledgeable about the question that was asked respond with answers, people use the arrows on the left side to Up-vote or Down-vote the answer. What this does is push the best or more-relevant answers to the top as they will have the best reputation. Also, user's who have highly rated answers will improve in personal reputation within the forum.

And there are two different types of responses:

Answers - These are direct answers to the question being asked. Like "What is the temperature of the ocean in March? Can the family go swimming?" and a person answers with "65 degrees and only with a wet suit"
Comments - These are not answers, they are comments on either the answers or the question. In the example above, someone may want to add a comment to the answer like "Also beware that the air temperature is about 70 degrees which would make getting out of the water very cold"

Hopefully that helps to clarify things. We will keep an eye on things and move them to the appropriate forum as we see fit. As always, any feedback is appreciated.
