The first day of the trip has been a long one. Jeff and I left the wilds of Canada very early, leaving the house at 3am. Our destination – River Creek Club in Leesburg, Virginia – http://www.clubcorp.com/Clubs/River-Creek-Club. Everything we looked at had a different arrival time. Google Maps was saying 10.5 hours, MapPoint 8.5 hours, Bing Maps, 9.5 hours and the GPS was saying 8 hours. It took us 9, so it was something in between!

The course was fantastic, even with the gale force winds and cart path only due to all of the rain that has fallen. The pro-shop staff was very friendly, the cart girl attentive, and even though the greens looked a bit shaggy, they putted well.
We finished up the round, which took a bit longer than usual due to the CPO, the very long, wet rough that had not been cut in a few days and a few bad holes by members of our group, and headed to Famous Dave’s in Woodbridge, VA to have a few ribs and for me to pick up some hot sauce. I’m writing this from the hotel room in Stafford, where I am about to hop into bed as 7am and another round of golf will be coming very quickly!
