Oct 5 - 9 38th Year at the Beach
Arrived October 4th for 5 days of golf. The weather was spectacular all week. Hi's in the low 80's and low's in the mid 60's. No rain any day.
October 5 - The Thistle - course conditions were excellent, and the course was busy, POP was 3 3/4 hours. Greens were extremely fast, probably 11 on the meter. Fairways were a little tight. Tees were good, but the fairways had a lot of water on them, so, mudballs came into play.
October 6 - Grand Dunes - same conditions as The Thistle with fast greens, good tee boxes and lush fairways. No mudballs on this day. POP was 4 hours on the nose and the course was very busy.
October 7 - Barefoot Dye - excellent course with a large number of bunkers coming into play. Greens, fairways and tees were the best of the week. Although, the greens were running about 9, but still speedy.
October 8 - Glen Donrach - one of our favorites and it did not disappoint. Everything was in excellent shape and even the greens were as fast as we have ever played at GD, probably about 9 on the meter. As usual, our highest scores of the week. The wind was up also making the course play tougher than usual. Lots of good grass in the tee boxes, fairways and greens.
October 9 - Tidewater - again, excellent course conditions throughout. Speedy greens, lots of break and fairways and tees were in great condition. The starter told another golfer that they had a full tee sheet. Oddly, this was the lowest round of our trip for 3 of us.
Food: Mellow Mushroom carry out ($20 Uber coupon discount). Cianti South for Italian. Clarks for Prime Rib. Sea Merchants (outside has been refreshed), for parmasian (sp) crusted Grouper. Chestnut Hill for Flounder which was excellent. Lunches were at sports bars. Breakfasts were at various pancake house.
Our house was a 4 bedroom, 4 bath in Cherry Grove.
Great lineup of courses. Thanks for the report.

You played some great MB area courses, thanks for your report.
We decided long ago that we would only play top tier courses if we were going to spend a weeks vacation. We have been doing that for about the last 25 years. Now we are retired and can go anytime or anywhere but we feel that MB is the best value, even at the top tier courses.
Nice trip w.
Indeed great golf weather right now.

Golf is a game. We play it. Somewhere along the way we took the fun out of it and charged a premium to be punished.- - Ron Sirak
