Unlike many players, I like playing this course - unfortunately location and conditions have kept me away.

I'm with you UGP.  I have some good memories there.  My Old Man & Uncles have some great stories about playing there as well.  Maybe if they reopen it we can play it together wearing matching shirts that say "The Brick Ain't So Bad!"

It was certainly was target golf.  I would think it would take a lot of money to fix it up.  Hope it works out.

$1.2 million sounds like a good deal for all that property.

Thanks for the scoop.

There are a lot of golf courses you can't make money on if they're given to you for free. Not sure that 1.2 is a good deal.

Let see the glass half full instead of half empty!

In the meantime, there are still plenty of other golf options available! 😉

Only played BL once, it was a different course and definitely a tough one after holes 1 and 2.

I've played Brick a couple of times but not in the last fifteen years. Some of it struck me as potentially spectacular--the holes in the swamp and along the waterway--and some as just dumb--there was a par-three that literally seemed to run between condo buildings--but given the horrendous conditions then, which I never heard improved, I didn't feel the course worth playing unless you were staying on the property or nearby.

I agree. BL has a mix of nice and strange holes. Maybe the new owners will improve conditions for the golf course. Time will tell us.

Brick Landing is planning to reopen.

Unless they have deep pockets, which the article
does not imply, it's not likely to be any better than it has been for years.

It's a situation like Azalea Sands, but at least AS has a good location.

If they can not invest for to improve the conditions at Brick Landing, i would be surprise that this golf course will stay open a long time.

New owners might be trying to protect their community from developers
and also attract business to the restaurant.

Passport/Local players can play better courses in the area for little more $.
Packagers know not to send visitors there.

The Brick has been "brought back" 3 times before and all failed.
It doesn't satisfy enough levels of golfers on a regular basis.
Package golfers want better, beginners don't want to lose loads of balls,
young bombers want to hit more drivers, the drive from MB isn't worth it,
when RE is around the corner.
