Azalea Sands 3.25
Played in a game at AZ today. Happy to report it's getting better out there. After two days of rain, it was wet. Fairways were good, tees OK, greens were SLOW, about 7.5 BUT actually rolled pretty true. I expect that mid to late summer they will have progressed a lot further. Layout is OK, will not knock your socks off but has some challenge to it. Some good Par 3's. I'm glad they're open. They redid the clubhouse too. Not many pictures as I walked and had to keep up with our 3.25 hour pace. Great walking course.
Golf is just an excuse to drink whiskey and smoke cigars
Denis, put it very far down your list, to many other courses to play and not waste your $$.
That looks like a good overseed. I think we read that the maint staff from
Eagle Nest maintains it.
They still have old style bermuda greens, that may always be slow.
I wonder why a budget course keeps a creek bunker on that par 3 with 3 other
Thanks for the update.

Played AS ten days ago for the first time-primarily because of the cheap local rate. Agree with others that it's not a MB "must play." Do appreciate that they seem to allow walking at any time though.
Biggest negative for me were the greens. I love putting bermuda greens-I'm not a "stimp" guy-but Azalea Sands may have the least contoured (read, interesting) of any course I've played in Myrtle.
Pro shop/cart guys were great but AS defines "warm up" course if you visit the Strand.
