We booked a short 3 night, 4 round thru a guy (I'm trying to decide if I name him) at myrtlebeachgolf.com. We were sent detailed instructions for after hours check-in. When we booked we were promised that our Barefoot condos would be in close proximity to each other. First, the instructions were incorrect. It caused us to waste almost 2 hours getting checked in. Calls to the number we had for Myrtle Beach Golf were not helpful. Once we able to find the right place to get keys, we were only given the street names and addresses, if you are familiar with Barefoot, there must be 4 or 5 separate Catalina Drives, a map might have been helpful. When we eventually find the correct addresses, we discover that the condos are about a mile apart. Also, we were told that the condos would be very nice with very adequate sleeping arrangements. The 2nd bedroom with the the tiny mattresses squeezed into the small room is no treat.

We then had a rain issue, thinking that we probably would be getting rained out, we called the MB Golf # to see what our options would be. We called the MBG number, and was told that the course would offer rain checks. With no guarantee that we would be back in MB in the next year or 2, we of course would prefer to get the money back. The person we talked to was virtually no help other than to suggest we sell the rain checks on ebay. The proshop told us they will only do rain checks since we bought thru a booking company. If we had bought thru the course directly they would be able to give us a refund. The conversation I had with the person at Myrtle Beach Golf was disappointing, she didn't seem to be invested in solving our problem.

I would try and report the issue on their website - I always try and look at the reviews on anything I purchase. Good luck - I've never seen a bad report on Brian, the owner of this site.

I have always booked with Brian and the courses we were rained out of was no issue in getting a rain check. Most course will not refund money. I would suggest you use Brian the owner of this site and he will take care of all these issues you had,

I agree you should have received good instructions, a map/directions and not been
so far apart or at least warned about it, if unavoidable.   MB regulars eventually find
a packager and lodging they like.   I prefer hotel lodging.

Rainchecks are the norm for rain outs in MB and most resorts.

Sorry you had problems.

Too bad you have to deal with those issues!

In the meantime, you know what to do for your next MB golf trip... Brian Noblin is The Man!!!

I've never heard of courses doing refunds, only rain checks. Sounds like you're dealing with a company that you'll get nowhere with.

If you do return to MB, call Brian next time. He is very pro-active & makes sure this kind of bs does not happen.

Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle.

Never having used anyone's service I have heard good and bad reviews of the packagers - never heard a bad word about Brian. Based on this group he gives a lot of personal service - which many times is required due to weather and golf course conditions.

Really can't do anything about it.

When I visit MB, it's usually on a family trip, so we rent an oceanfront condo.

I've noticed over the last few years that when we rent through bigger real estate companies, the service is not as good. The people working for these companies are not as friendly or helpful as far as giving helpful tips , directions , etc .

We might talk to one person when booking, then a different person if calling back with questions, then a different person when you arrive.

No personalized service.

It looks like you ran into the same type of thing.

But all we can do is grin and bear it -and learn from it.

Thanks for posting this topic.

We have had similar experiences in the past.  We started using VRBO or HomeAway for the condo/house and only Brian for golf.  It is an easy check to see how responsive someone is on the rental sites because you can ask a question.  If they respond in a timely fashion and the reviews are good, it seems to work out.  I just booked a condo in Mesa AZ for a baseball event for my son.  First person would not respond, moved on.  Next person could not be more responsive, booked the room.

For golf, Brian really is the man.  He knows the courses so well and gives great insight.
